bair
Bair, a bike mounted air purifier, was developed rapidly in my second year of study of Product Design Engineering. As part of the design brief we each were allocated an electromechanical product to disect and an industry to redesign it for. I was challenged to deliver a handheld vacuum cleaner for the cycling marketplace. By extending the technology of removing particles from airflow to pollutants; I prototyped to protect cyclists from breathing in deteriorating city air, primarily whilst commuting. This included researching airflow amplification technology, designing a custom bracket to easily attach to handlebars and using the sculpture workspace within Fusion 360 to form the plastic shell.
